Frequently Asked Questions

  •
    •   What are the differences between the Plans:

Plan A and Plan B (For all Exchange Durations):

Accident and Sickness for students traveling outside of the United States, Plan B pays 100% of usual and customary covered charges up to the $1,000,000 USD maximum (out of pocket expenses $0). Accident and Sickness for students traveling into the United States, Plan B pays 80% of the first $5,000, 100% thereafter of usual and customary charges up to the $1,000,000 USD maximum once the student pays a one-time $100 deductible(out of pocket expenses $1100). For all exchanges, Plan A goes to 80% payment of usual and customary charges up the $1,000,000 USD maximum once the student pays a one-time $100 deductible. This means the student and his/her family is responsible for 20% of expense up to $1,000,000 USD. We recommend participants purchase Plan A only if they have a supplemental policy that will pay the difference. Please note, Sports Coverage is available on Plan A and Plan B.

    •  How can I pay for the insurance?

Insurance payment is due in full at the time of enrollment. U.S. checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, U.S. money orders, and wire transfers (if necessary) are acceptable. Foreign checks cannot be processed; however, international bank checks drawn from U.S. banks in U.S. dollars are acceptable.

    • What is the fastest way to enroll?

The fastest way to enroll is online. A credit card payment is required. Insurance materials are e-mailed back to the participant instantly. CISI-Bolduc encourages students inbound to the U.S. to contact their credit card company or bank prior to purchasing the insurance via credit card due to a heightened risk of international credit card fraud. Such security measures mean that some unusual transactions may be denied.

    • How long does it take for you to process my insurance application?

Complete application and payment must be received prior to the departure date of the exchange in order for insurance to begin that day.

    • Once I send my application and payment, will I get anything back to confirm I have insurance?

Once we receive your completed application and payment, your insurance enrollment should be processed within five business days. Online enrollments will be processed instantly.

    •  When can my insurance begin?

Upon enrollment, you will be sent an insurance ID card, policy booklet, and claim form(s). These insurance materials will be mailed to your U.S. address when applicable. If you enroll online, your materials will be e-mailed to the address indicated on the application.
