Long Term - Medical Insurance

All exchange students participating in Rotary ESSEX's long-term or short-term exchanges are required to purchase CISI Bolduc Cultural Insurance Plan B insurance.   The only exception to this is if you are required to purchase insurance from your hosting country, then CISI Bolduc Plan A is acceptable.  This is to insure that you will have at least some health insurance coverage if you experience major medical problems abroad.  Even if you have other insurance, you must purchase the CISI insurance policy if you are accepted to become an exchange student.  Personal liability coverage is also required.

Cost

The price for the insurance policies ranges between $125 (for Short-Term) to $680 USD (for Long-Term), depending on the coverage level required for the student.  Contact your district chairman or youth exchange officer for details on which insurance package is appropriate for your exchange.   To view the most current rates for Health Insurance please visit the following website:  http://www.culturalinsurance.com/rotary/

The insurance application is available for download at http://www.exchangestudent.org/IMupload/insuranceapplrotary.pdf       This download gives you detail information on pricing, coverage explanation and other riders that may be purchased if you participate in certain types of activities, like scholastic sports programs.  You can also obtain a copy from your district chairman.
