Rules and Conditions of Exchange Long-Term Outbound and Inbound Students
When students and parents participate in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, they must agree to comply with all rules and conditions of the exchange program. They must submit a signed copy of the rules as part of the long-term exchange application. They must also agree to and sign off on ESSEX rules regarding outbound exchange students, along with the local rules and conditions of the district where they spend their exchange. Failure to comply with any of the rules and conditions may result in the immediate termination of the student's exchange.
Rotary International’s Rules and Conditions for a Long-Term Exchange are part of the Long-Term Exchange Outbound Application. ESSEX’s rules and conditions of exchange for outbound students are available for download on this website or may be obtained through the Rotary Club sponsoring the exchange. The outbound exchange rules are available in Microsoft Word format below.

Additional rules and conditions may be required by the host club and district in the hosting country. Any questions conerning any of the rules and conditions should be raised with the sponsoring Rotary Club and/or district in advance of the exchange.
Inbound Students
Inbound exchange students must also agree to comply with ESSEX and hosting district rules. Failure to comply with any of the rules and conditions of exchange may result in an immediate termination of a student’s exchange.
